The Order of the Holy Trinity is a Roman Catholic Order founded in France at the end of the 12th century. This is the only Trinitarian Monastery in Ireland. Founded in 1230, it was all but destroyed during the Dissolution of the Monasteries, but restored by the Earl of Dunraven in the 1800s. Today, it is Adare’s Roman Catholic parish church, with the original church nave now used as the south aisle of the present church. Notice the tower, which is the original one, and particularly fine.
