Tramore means big strand, and the town’s five miles of golden sand has been attracting holidaymakers for centuries. There’s a lot for them to do, with surfing, swimming, sunbathing and kayaking all on offer. For the kids, there are both amusement arcades and fun rides including a ghost train, a roller coaster and a water park. More peaceful pursuits include walks along the beautiful cliff-clad coastline and beach angling. Pollock, dogfish, dabs, coalfish and whiting have all been caught here.
