The Story of The Gaelic Games
Slievenamon Road, Thurles, County Tipperary - Ireland

Map

Thurles is the heart of the GAA (Gaelic Athletic Association). Its Visitor Centre charts the story of Gaelic Games from their origin to the present day. Hurling, football, camogie and handball are all covered. Displays include the Sam Melbourne Collection of GAA memorabilia, Tiperary GAA - Decade by Decade, a Hall of Fame, Hurleys through the Ages, All-Stars since 1971 and Myths and Legends. The Centre’s home, a fine 19th-century building off Liberty Square, is also worthy of attention. The Centre opened in 1994
