With a capstone weighing around 70 tonne, Labby Rock is one of the largest Dolmen’s in Ireland. Four metres tall, two metres thick and three metres wide, the massive slab of limestone is driving its stone supports into the ground. The remarkable structure stands alone in a field at the head of a valley. Legend says that it was created in a single night by supernatural forces. Labby is derived from the Irish word for bed.
