Children, especially girls, will love Tara’s Palace. It’s one of the best Dolls’ Houses in the world. Tiny rooms are furnished with tiny replicas of design classics; hung with miniature paintings by leading Irish artists; and populated with antique dolls and toys. Tara’s Palace was begun in 1980. It is inspired by Sir Neville Wilkinson’s 1907 Titania’s Palace, the famous dolls’ house now at Legoland in Denmark, and also by Ireland’s great 18th-century estates, Castletown House, Leinster House and Carton.
