St John’s Church is once again playing a central role in the town of Listowel. Having been fully restored at a cost of £250,000, it is now home to one of South West Ireland’s premier theatres and galleries. A varied programme of events includes the best local, national and international film, theatre, music, dance and exhibitions. Performers have included Freddie White, Garret Pearson and Sephira. The Gothic church was built in 1819 and designed by the Cork architect, James Payne.
