This museum’s home is the first custom-built county museum in Ireland. Inside are spacious galleries displaying maps, newspapers, paintings, prints and other exhibits detailing the history of South Tipperary. Among them are prints of the famous 19th-century Bianconi horse-drawn coaches, from the time when the company was based in Clonmel. A programme of museum events includes temporary exhibitions on topics ranging from Tipperary in the Stone Age to Tipperary at war. South Tipperary County Museum was founded in the 1940s.
