Steep streets lead up to the entrance of Saint Colman’s Cathedral, and climbers are rewarded with knockout views of Cobh Harbour and Spike Island. The Cathedral itself is one of Ireland’s finest Gothic Revival ecclesiastical buildings, and among the best work of architects, Edward Pugin and Goerge Ashlin. Highlights include the largest peal of bells in Ireland, richly carved Bath stone panels and beautiful stained glass by Early & Powell of Dublin. The Cathedral was built between 1867 and 1919.
