Quin Franciscan Friary is a church built on a castle built on the site of church. The first church was burned down in 1278. Two years later it was replaced by a castle, the ruins of which were incorporated into a new church built 1350. Containing a fascinating web of passageways and stairwells, the Friary is an unusual mix of church and castle. Visitors can enter through the old castle door, see remains of the original towers and also the bawn walls.
