People’s Millennium Forests have been created in Ireland to preserve and create native Irish Woodland - 1500 acres of it so far. This is one of them. It was created in the 1990s, when mature conifers were removed from an old oak woodland and replanted with Sessile oaks, ash, birch, alder and cherry. Attractions include forest walks, a picnic site, and, in spring, bluebells. Look out for foxes, badgers, hares, rabbits, squirrels and a variety of birds.
