Patrick Pearse was a teacher, poet, writer, nationalist and leader of the 1916 Easter Rising. He ran this school, and today it houses a museum dedicated to his memory, his life and his passions. Attractions include a nature study room detailing Irish flora and fauna and an audio-visual show - This Man Kept a School. Surrounding the museum’s 18th-century home is St Enda’s Park, with its romantic river, waterfall and walled garden. Patrick Pearse was executed in May 3 1916.
