Oakfield Park is a private estate of 100 acres with an award-winning garden and a small railway running through it. The garden is impressive, with a folly, a lake, a flower meadow and a formal garden among its features. The estate dates from 1739, when the house was built as the Deanery for Raphoe Cathedral. Restoration of the gardens began in 1996 and is ongoing. Recent work opened up a new vista from the house to fine views of the Croaghan Mountains. Only the gardens are open to the public.
