For many, Newman House sums up Georgian Dublin. Elegant 18th-century rooms, elaborate plasterwork and a sturdy granite façade help to explain why. Daily tours guide visitors through, not only the history, heritage and restoration of the building, but also the lives of the people who lived in it. Originally two houses, Newman House became one in the mid-19th century, when it was named after Cardinal Newman. They have been undergoing major restoration since 1989.
