A former soldier’s chapel is now home to this museum devoted entirely to printing. Its double mission: to chart the history of printing in Ireland and to preserve traditional printing skills. Over 10,000 artefacts are here. Highlights include an encounter with Johann Gutenberg, whose invention, movable metal type, changed the world, and examples of later inventions, such as 19th-century Linotype and Monotype machines. An audio-visual show helps to explain their impact on the world. The museum is also home to newspaper front pages covering the great moments in world history.
