Cahir has been called the crafts capital of South East Ireland, and the National Craft Granary was one of the first regional crafts centres in Ireland to open. It successfully fuses craft with commerce. A former spinning school, the spacious stone building now houses a gallery presenting contemporary high-quality crafts, a craft shop, where they’re sold, and regular craft workshops, which teach craft skills such as basket making, pottery, embroidery and candle making.
