Mount Errigal

Donegal’s biggest and best known mountain rises to 749 metres (2466 ft). Made of tough quartzite rock, it is also the steepest of the Seven Sisters chain of mountains, which also includes Muckish Mountain. Loose shale makes walking to the peak quite challenging, but the views are worth the trouble. To the north and east are Horn Head and Tory Island, and to the south the spectacular Derryveagh Mountains.
