County Sligo’s art scene is world famous, and this arts centre in Sligo Town is one of the best in Ireland. The Niland Gallery presents regular exhibitions and contemporary art, with nine shows a year. Past exhibitions have featured Anthony Gormley and John Shinnors, among others. The Gallery’s permanent exhibition, the Niland Art Collection, comprises Irish Art. Highlights include Jack B Yeats’ drawings and George Russell’s paintings. The Centre also hosts a varied performing arts programme and an award-winning cafe, The Atrium, serves gourmet meals.
