Lory Meagher was a famous sportsman in the 1920s and 1930s who played Ireland’s national sport of hurling. This 17th-century thatched mansion was his home, and it has been restored to its 19th-century state, giving an insight into family life at that time. Other attractions include Kilkenny’s GAA (Gaelic Athletics Association) Museum. Collections include player’s medals, boots, jerseys, trophies, press clippings and portraits. There’s also a children’s play area and picnicking areas.
