The Loop Head Cycleway is a 65km route starting and ending in the lively seaside resort of Kilkee. It hugs the banks of the River Shannon before heading for the wild Atlantic coastline and the Loop Head Peninsula. En route are tiny rural villages set in massive landscapes of sea sky and farmland, picturesque harbours and the giant cliffs of the Loop Head itself. The Cycleway is mostly flat and it takes around two days. It’s best cycled clockwise.
