Limerick’s Milk Market was restored in the 1990s at a cost of some €2.5 million. It’s now the home of one of Ireland’s best and most popular farmers’ markets, with 30 stalls. Food on sale includes everything from sausages to seaweed. Also Irish cheeses, jams, chutneys and breads can be bought here and for the garden and home, plants and fresh flowers. An atmospheric and lively affair, the market gives visitors a glimpse of the commercial life of the city.
