Often called the "Saint Andrews of Ireland", Lahinch Old Course is perhaps the country’s premier links course. Its 18 holes are sandwiched between sand dunes and the Atlantic. As well as spectacular views, the course is a challenging one right from the first tee where golfers battle with climbs and a crossfall. There are also two infamous blind holes. Other highlights include rolling fairways, a ruined castle and hidden bunkers. Club competitions include the Ireland Amateur Golf Championship. Lahinch Golf Club is extremely popular and advance booking is essential.
