A long broad sandy crescent facing the Atlantic, Lahinch beach is a favourite with families. It’s a popular surf beach too, and one of the best in Ireland. In 2006 44 surfers rode the same wave, breaking a world record. Other activities include kitesurfing and windsurfing, and nearby is the world-famous Lahinch Golf Club. The clean safe beach has been awarded the European Blue Flag of excellence and lifeguards are on duty in the summer.
