Knocknarea Mountain
Sligo town, County Sligo - Ireland

Map
The long smooth profile of Knocknarea Mountain is one of Sligo’s most famous landmarks. Rising to 327 metres, it can be climbed in about 45 minutes. Climbers are rewarded with unforgettable views of some of the finest scenery in Ireland. Also on the summit is Queen Maeve’s Cairn, the 10metre-high mound that looks like a giant mole hill from the ground. Both the Cairn and Knocknarea Mountain have inspired literature from Irish myth to Yeats’ poetry.
