Killaghy Castle is a Norman castle within a 240-acre estate. Built on the site of a Motte and Bailey, the original castle dates from the 1100s, but there have been numerous additions since them, including a Tudor Long House. The Castle has since been carefully restored and it’s now the venue for the annual Kickham Festival, among other events. The Festival attracts poets from around the world. They take part in recitals in the walled garden.
