Irish Raptor Research Centre
Portinch, Ballymote, County Sligo - Ireland

Map
Ireland’s largest sanctuary for birds of prey occupies 27 hectares and houses 270 birds and animals. A special treat is the Eagles Flying Show. It sees eagles, falcons, vultures, hawks and owls swooping, diving and hovering, with varying degrees of speed, agility and accuracy. There’s also a children’s zoo, with friendly goats, lambs, donkeys, horses and smaller animals such as rabbits. The Raptor Research Centre was established in 1999 for research, only opening to visitors later in response to demand.
