Iosas stands for Island of Saints and Scholars, and the Iosas Centre and garden is a celebration of Ireland’s spiritual golden age. Covering six acres, the Celtic Prayer Garden forms a map of Ireland, which tells the story of the country’s saints from the fifth to the 12th centuries. It features the dry-stone cell of St Columba, St Canice’s oratory and the Bird Sanctuary of St Ciaran. The Visitor Centre has an audio-visual display, a café and a shop.
