The Isle of Innisfree has been made famous by Yeats’ most popular poem. It is a small wooded isle set in the beautiful Lough Gill. The Rose of Innisfree Tourboat runs regular trips to the isle from Parkes Castle. They includes snacks, refreshments, commentary and poetry recitals, and there’s a licensed bar. Sunset cruises are also available. It’s also possible to hire a boat from Doorly Park and travel to the pretty isle independently.
