Half Moon Bay curls around the northern shore of Lough Gill in front of an old woodland. Hidden within the woods is Hazelwood Sculpture Trail, a 3km forested trail dotted with sculptures by Irish and international sculptors. Current sculptures include figures and an entire carriage and team of horses. There’s also a picnic site here and other lakeside walks. The woods were once part of the Hazelwood Estate, the seat of the Wynne family. The fine Hazelwood House dating from 1724 and designed by Richard Cassels is still nearby.
