Archbishop Theophilus Bolton was a forward-thinking man, preserving many of the Cashel’s treasures. One of his many legacies is this library. It houses a remarkable collection of antiquarian books, manuscripts and maps, some as old as the 12th century. Other highlights include an exhibition of the original altar pieces of the Rock of Cashel Cathedral, in which the library is housed. A changing selection of books and maps are on display. Tours are possible by prior request. They also take in the Cathedral rooms.
