Golden Grove is as beautiful as it sounds. A river flows through a forest of beach, pine, oak and lime overflowing with bird and plant life. The wood also has a famous hill. Cnoc na Meas means Hill of the Banquet and it’s apparently the site of the last act of cannibalism in Ireland. Forest facilities include marked forest walks and a picnic site. Visit in May to see the woodland floor covered with bluebells.
