Gola Island
Gweedore, County Donegal - Ireland

Map

Gola Island draws photographers and artists from around the world to its spectacular seascapes and abundant birdlife. Rock climbers come here too to scale some of the most challenging cliffs in Europe. They are joined by walkers and daytrippers looking for peace, quiet and beauty. No humans live here, but the 328-hectare island is home to cormorants, razorbills, guillemots, gannets and kittiwakes, which draw birdwatchers too. Ferries leave for Gola Island from Bunbeg Pier in Gweedore. Times vary according to tidal and weather conditions.
