County Clare has a distinguished musical heritage, and Glór Irish Music Centre sets out to celebrate and preserve it. This centre was built in 2001, and it was designed to recreate the spontaneity and intimacy of traditional performances. Its annual Summer Music Festival attracts visitors from around the world. They come to hear the best Irish musicians, singers and dancers. Other attractions include the exhibition, They Love Music Mightily, with its contemporary recordings of Ireland’s best performers, and the film, Clare for the Music!, which explores the origins of traditional music in County Clare.
