Churchill, County Donegal - Ireland

Map

Glebe House is home to a fine collection of 20th-century paintings. Some 300 works by artists including Picacco, Yeats, Bonnard, Annigoni and Pasmore are here. Irish and Italian artists are also well represented. The artist, Derek Hill, bequeathed the collection and Glebe House itself to the Irish State in 1980. The House is Regency, built 1828, decorated with William Morris textiles, Donegal Folk Art, Japanese and Islamic art, and surrounded by beautiful gardens overlooking Lough Gartan. There is also a tearoom.
