The Galway Arts Centre is West Ireland’s leading multi-disciplinary arts centre. Two galleries exhibit local, national and international work, and classes, workshops and exhibitions are also held here. A highlight is Impressions, Ireland’s largest open-submission print exhibition. The Art Centre’s 1840s home is the former residence of Lady Augusta Gregory, playwright and patron of the Irish Literary Revival. The Galway Arts Centre also manages Nun’s Island Studio, a restored church, which hosts live performances and visual art installations.
