Falcarragh is set in one the few remaining Irish-speaking or ’Gaeltacht’ regions of the country. This Visitor Centre celebrates its history, culture, rural heritage and language using artefacts, audio-visual displays and other exhibits. The Centre is housed in a former barracks, which was built in 1890 and which became Falcarragh Garda Station in 1920. Its history is also well represented. There is also a coffee shop and a craft shop.
