Galway’s famous Eyre Square is often the liveliest place in the City. In summer especially, visitors and locals head this way to listen to live music, meet friends, relax or marvel at some of the best town houses in the city. Other attractions include a towering rusting sculpture by Eamonn O’Donnell, its billowing sails a reminder of Galway’s maritime history. There’s also a statue of the famous Galway writer, Pádhraig Ó Conaire, who was born not far from the square.
