The Bunbrody Famine Ship is a replica of the three-masted barque that carried thousands of Irish emigrants to America and Canada. In 1848 one of them was Patrick Kennedy, great grandfather of President John F Kennedy. Visitors can share the experience of the 45-day voyage by going below deck and exploring the confined cabins and the cargo hold. They can also access a database of two million ship passengers and watch a film telling some of their stories.
