Deep within the vaults of the City Hall, Dublin’s eventful past unfolds. The Story of the Capital follows the City’s journey from Viking settlement to vibrant metropolis. Along the way, its treasures are uncovered. Among them, the original City Seal, the Lord Mayor’s Chain, and many medieval manuscripts. Also here is the City Hall’s spectacular Rotunda. Restored between 1998 and 2000, its lofty dome, mosaics, marble and statues are once again open to the public.
