One of Ireland’s best family attractions, Dublin Zoo is home to some of the world’s rarest animals. Among them, an Amur Tiger, which despite being the world’s biggest big cat is down to some 150 to 300 in the wild, a Snow Leopard, also endangered in the wild, and a Jaguar. Giraffes, zebras, rhinos, chimpanzees and storks also live here in the zoo’s 13-hectare African Plains. Don’t miss the unique Meerkat Restaurant, where this curious creature plays a starring role. Dublin Zoo, which opened in 1830, is the second oldest in Europe.
