Set in sight of the long low mass of Benbulben Mountain, Drumcliff is a small picturesque village with a lot to see. It’s the site of not only the grave of WB Yeats but also Sligo’s only round tower and its only 10th-century High Cross. The last two are remnants of the monastery founded in the village around 575 by St Colmcille. The impressive cross is nearly four metres high and carved with scenes from the old and new testaments.
