Ramelton’s buildings are spread engagingly along the banks of the River Leannan. One of them is home to Donegal Ancestry Centre, a research and heritage centre. Inside is The Ramelton Story, a lively mixture of audio-visual technology, storyboards, artefacts and, the hightlight, a scale model of Ramelton. Themes include the O’Donnel Chieftains, the Flight of the Earls and Georgian Ramelton. Visitors can also attempt to trace their ancestors here with the help of a database of 750,000 records and trained staff.
