Damer House is a Queen Anne style house within Roscrea Castle courtyard. A fine example of pre-Palladian architecture, it is partly managed by Roscrea Heritage Society, who helped save it from demolition in the 1960s. They have furnished one of the rooms in period style and another houses regular exhibitions. In the 1700s the house belonged to the richest man in Ireland, and other attractions include an exquisitely carved staircase, which was restored in the 1970s. Outside, a restored mill displays St Cronan’s High Cross and Pillar Stone.
