A safe rural fine-sand beach, Curracloe has had Blue Flag status since 2004. Backed by protected sand dunes and very few buildings, it’s also a peaceful beach. The best access is via the R742 and Curracloe Village, which is also a popular fishing spot. Spring and autumn nights are the best time to catch bass, smoothhound, flounder, codling, whiting and dogfish. The beach is usually watched by lifeguards during the summer - daily during July and August. Bathers should check the lifeguard notice.
