Cork’s city art gallery draws some 200,000 visitors a year to its collection of over 2000 works, ranging from 18th European paintings to contemporary installations. Highlights include Irish art of the 19th and early 20th century, including paintings by Jack B Yeats, and Greek and Roman sculpture casts brought here from the Vatican Museum in 1818. Other attractions include an excellent café serving an acclaimed gastronome menu, a book shop and the Gallery’s home, the historic 1724 Custom House. Admission to the Gallery is free.
