Corke Lodge garden started out as a Mediterranean grove designed to complement William’s Farrell’s Italianate villa. Today a tapestry of textures and shapes remains, with low box hedges curving around drifts of perennials cornered with pointed conifers. Nearby are the knotted branches of an old cork tree. A scattering of architectural salvages from the demolition of the Gothic Glendalough House add atmosphere, as does the classical façade of Corke Lodge itself. The garden has appeared on Irish television and is part of The Dublin Garden Group.
