County Clare’s 6000 years of history are captured in this fascinating museum. The Riches of Clare Exhibition, for example, focuses on its people, places and treasures. Artefacts range from bronze-age weapons to de Valera’s telegram to his wife on being elected to parliament. Other highlights include exhibits on loan from the National Musuem in Dublin and remains found at the famous Poulnabrone Portal Tomb. Among them, a human hipbone, shot through with an arrow.
