Waterford City Hall is home to the biggest and oldest surviving piece of Waterford Crystal. The glass chandelier in the Council Chamber dates from the mid 1780s. The City Hall itself dates from 1783, when John Roberts designed it. In the foyer, a collection of plaques recalls 800 years of government in Waterford, Ireland’s oldest city. Other attractions include William Van Der Hagen’s famous painting of Waterford, which is the earliest of an Irish city.
