Christ Church Cathedral
Cathedral Square, Waterford City - Ireland

Map

Christ Church Cathedral is the only neo-classical Georgian cathedral in Ireland. Built between 1773 and 1779 by John Roberts, the leading architect of the time, it has been described as the finest 18th-century ecclesiastical building in the country. There’s plenty to see. Don’t miss the magnificent Baroque stucco ceiling, the tomb of James Rice, an excellent example of a cadavar monument, stained glass by A E Child, among his best work, and the 16th-century Warrior’s Tomb. The Cathedral regularly hosts concerts and recitals.
