Trinity Cathedral was the first cathedral built in Ireland after the Reformation and it’s therefore the country’s oldest Catholic Cathedral. John Roberts, who was also responsible for, among other buildings, Waterford’s City Hall, designed the Cathedral in 1793. In fact, he has designed so many buildings in the town that in 2000 a square - John Roberts Square - was named after him. Look out for 10 crystal chandeliers, which Waterford Crystal donated to the Cathedral in the early 1990s.
