Carrick-on-Suir has one of Ireland’s premier golf courses. Founded in 1939, the original nine-hole course was described as the finest in Europe. In 1995, Eddie Hackett designed nine more holes, and today’s 18-hole course is over 6000 metres long. It combines numerous challenges with a stunning location spliced between the drama of the Comeragh mountains and the quiet beauty of the Suir valley. There’s also a clubhouse with a bar and dining room.
